Answer» Depending upon the duration of light required for photoperiodic responses plants can be categorized as : (i) Long day Plants (LDPs) : Requires exposure of light more than critical duration. Ex. Radish, sugar beet. (ii) Short Day Plants(SDPs) : Requires exposure of light less than critical duration. Ex- Tobacco, Chrysanthemum (iii) Day Neutral Plants (DNPs) : Flowering not influenced by duration of light. Ex. Tomato, Cotton etc.
