Explain why it is difficult for carbon to gain or loose four electron? |

Answer» Carbon atom is very small due to which its outermost electrons are strongly held by nucleus so its not easy to loose.And also to gain because of energy consideration. It is difficult for carbon to gain 4 electron as in nucleus only 6 protons are present and it is difficult for 6 protons to hold 10 electrons.It is difficult for carbon to loose 4 electrons as proton and neutron are holding the electrons very strongly .It is difficult to break this bond Wrong question |
