Explain the types of chemical reactions with the help of suitable examples |
| Answer» There are five types of chemical reactions 1.COMBINATION -reactions in which single product is formed from two or more reactants. Ex: CaO+H2O gives Ca (OH)22.DECOMPOSITION -reactionsin which single reactant breaks down to give simpler products. Ex: CaCO3 gives CaO+CO23.DISPLACEMENT-when an element displaces another element from its compound. Ex: Fe+CuSO4 gives FeSO4+Cu4.DOUBLE DISPLACEMENT -reactions in which two different atoms or groups of atoms are exchanged. Ex: Na2SO4+BaCl2 gives BaSO4+2NaCl5.OXIDATION AND REDUCTION -reaction in which one reactant gets oxidised while the other gets reduced during a reaction. It is also known as redox reaction. Ex: CuO+H2 gives Cu+H2O | |
