Answer» Blue-green algae like Nostoc, Anabaena fix atmospheric nitrogen. Heterocyst contains nitrogens enzyme that helps in nitrogen fixation. Nitrogen-fixing blue-green algae are inoculated in the rice field to increase the soil fertility.
