Answer» Ethylamine is more basic than aniline. In ethylamine, ethyl is electron donating group. So, more electrons are available aroudn nitrogen for donation. But in aniline, phenyl group is electron attracting group. Lone pair of electron on nitrogen is involved in delocalisation. This is the reason that ethyl amine is more basic than aniline. |
