Answer» Solution :Causes of Al-Beruni.s visit to India (i)In 1017 Sultan Mahmud invaded Khwarizm and took Al-Biruni with other SCHOLARS as HOSTAGE to Ghazni. (ii) Al-Biruni developed a liking for India and interest in India when Punjab became a PART of the Ghaznavid Empire. (iii) Al-Biruni was highly educated of his times. (iv) He was well versed in Syrian, Arabic, Hebrews, and Persian. (v)He wanted to learm more of MATHEMATICS, astronomy and medicine. (vi) Al-Beruni spent years learning Sanskrit and studying religious and philosophical text. (vii) He visited India, contacted LOCAL people and learnmt Indian philosophy too.
