Does the surface area of water affects its rate of freezing |
|
Answer» r,Surface area of an object affects the rate of heat being transferred, emitted or absorbed. In freezing ,thermal energy is being lost. »» 'Larger the surface area of a substance, more is the TIME taken for it to freeze'.«« »» 'SMALLER the surface area of a substance, less time it takes to freeze.'««If u pour some water in a GLASS and put it in a freezer and at the same time pour some water in a larger bowl and also put that in a freezer,u will notice after sometime that in this PERIOD of time the water in the glass has frozen whereas the water in the bowl is still a bit in liquid form. This is bcuz of the difference in surface areas. Bowl water, having a greater surface area freezes slowly and opposite is the case with the glass water which freezes quickly or ghastly than the bowl water DUE to a lesser or smaller surface area.HOPE IT HELPS UH!HAVE A GREAT DAY AHEAD««« |
