Answer» No.. refractive power depends on the medium. so it is not affected by HEIGHT or DEPTH of medium generally. however during very hot and cold days a mortgage is seen on roads and in air due to slight change in temperature of different layers of air particles. Refractive of a medium SLIGHTLY CHANGES with temperature. as we go deeper in some liquid medium, then optical density increases with pressure so, refractive power may also change. the change is negligible for practical purposes however.
