Distributive properties of rational numbers with examples

Answer»

The answer to the following QUESTION are as follows :

• Distributive PROPERTY for rational number states that if any particular sum of variable is further multiplied to the same number which is equivalent to the result then further again EVERY individual variable is multiplied and all the PRODUCTS are added altogether at the end.

• The relevant equation is subjected for any particular three numbers , i.e , x,y and Z.

         x* ( y+z) = (x*y) + (x*z)

• For example

1/3 x (2/5 + 1/5)  =  1/3 x 3/5  =  1/5

1/3 x (2/5 + 1/5)  =  1/3 x 2/5  +  1/3 x 1/5  =  (2 + 1) / 15 = 1/5

Hence, 1/3 x (2/5 + 1/5)  =  1/3 x 2/5  +  1/3 x 1/5

• In this above stated example it's clearly depicted that multiplication is distributive over the addition.
