Distinguish between loan and overdraft . |
| Answer» Solution :(i) An overdraftis an advance given by allowing a customer to withdraw more than the deposits in his current account up to the agreed limit. (ii) Overdraft is made usually against pledge of PAPER assest like listed share and debentures but loans are given against SECURITY . (iii) In caseof loan the BORROWER has to pay interest on FULL amount sanctionedbut in case of overdraft, borrower is given the facility of borrowing only as much as he require on which he has to pay interest on the DAILY balance. | |
