Gynoeciun is most commonly used term for the parts of flower that produce ovules and ultimately develop into fruits and seeds.The gynoecium is the innermost whorl of pistils and is typically SURROUNDED by the pollen-producing reproductive organs, the stamens, collectively called the androecium.The gynoecium is often referred to as the "female" portion of the gynoecium produces megaspores, each of which develops into a female gametophyte which then produces egg cells.

1.Epigynous- Having floral parts (such as the PETALS and stamens) attached to or near the UPPER part of the ovary, as in the flower of the apple, cucumber, or daffodil.

2.Hypogynous- In hypogynous flowers, the perianth and stamens are attached to the receptacle below the gynoecium; the ovary is superior to these organs, and the remaining floral organs arise from below the point of origin of the carpel as in tomato,tulip.

3.perigynous- Having sepals, petals, and stamens around the edge of a cuplike receptacle CONTAINING the ovary, as in flowers of the rose or cherry.
