Discuss the crop pattern of Peasantry in Medieval Period |

Answer» During the Medieval PERIODS, peasants were used for cultivating and irrigating lands. During middle ages, peasants used to follow a simple yearly cycle in which different tasks were performed by them during different times of the year. • The yearly cycle was divided from January to December. In January they performed task of weaving and planting crops. • In February the fields were ploughed and fertilizers were used for better cultivation. In March month they performed the task of Weeding, plouhing and sowing the fields. • The month of April was mainly for Pruning ACTIVITIES and SCARING birds away from the fields. SHEERING and harvesting of crops was done by them in the month of JUNE while in July they gathered the ploughing. • The task of harvesting, tying and winnowing was carried out in the month of August. Sowing and milling of harvest was done in October while in December fields were made ready for next cultivation |
