Solution :Causes of the decline of the Shoguns were the FOLLOWING :
(i) Shogouns followedthe POLICY of favouritism .
(ii) Only the members of Tokugawa family were appointed to the post whichspread the feelings of ill - will amongotherfeudal lords , who resolved to bringan end to the Shogun.s rule.
(iii) Japan.seconomy received a severe blowdue to the wrongeconomicpolicies of the Shoguns.
(iv) The condition of the peasantwas verymiserableduring their rule . Taxes were collected forcibly.
(v) A new CLASS merchant came into PROMINENCE. Feudal fraternity grew jealous of them. To put an end to their humiliaiton, the MERCHANTS wanted to do away with Shogun rule.
