Answer» “Directing is heart of Management” because any management function for proper execution requires direction. i. Initiation of Action : Directing initiates action in the organisation. Through directing, a superior conveys to his subordinates what to do and how to do it. Which results in unity of direction without such an action, all organisational resources – both human and non human – remain unused. ii. Means of Motivation : Every individual has lot of potential to get things done but in the absence of proper motivation, this potential remains unused. So a manager with good leadership and motivational skill provides needed confidence, support, motivation and encouragement. Directing provides this motivation to the individuals to get maximum out of them.
