Anthracite is a hard MINERAL coal, cleaner & hotter burning, lower pollutant contaminants, typically with a shiney surface like FLINT or obsidian.Bituminous coal is “soft” (literally) in the sense that it will easily LEAVE streaks when drawn against other materials, higher in sulphur and other contaminants that cause pollution if BURNED without controls.
