Answer»

The continent of Antarctica is located around the South Pole and therefore it remains covered with a thick layer of snow all the year round. Due to excessive cold, there is no permanent human habitation here. In 1960, the first Indian who went there was Dr. Giriraj Singh Sirohi. Research centres of many countries are situated here.
