Metals contain free electrons. When potential DIFFERENCE is applied at the ENDS of a metal rod, the electrons respond to it and start moving towards the positive terminal,of battery. This FLOW electrons result in the conduction of electricity through the metal.

Required materials:

  • battery
  • bulb
  • a metal (iron pin)

process:

✔ connect the one end of the wire to the battery and the another end to the bulb.

✔connect the iron pin to bulb and the battery

✔ now we can see the bulb start to glow

→This shows that metals are good conductors of electricity.
