Define the terms of Go,G1 chiasmata, synapsis and crossing over

Answer»

G0 PHASE is the the phase where the cell no longer divides but is in metabolically active. G1 phase - It is also called pre DNA synthesis phase . It is the interval between MITOSIS and initiation of DNA replication. During this phase cell is metabolically active. Most of the cell organelles increase in the cell and the cell grows maximum.Synapsis- It is characterised by pairing of homologous chromosome.CROSSING over- Due to increased attraction homologous chromosome tightly coil around each other . Both the chromatids of each chromosome bece distinct and are called sister chromatic . Recombination nodule between non sister chromatids of homologous pair develop and these non sister chromatids EXCHANGE their parts this is called crossing over.Chiasmata- During diplotene stage of prophase 1 of meiosis 1 the homologous chromosome start repulsing each chiasmata.X shaped STRUCTURES are appeared ,these are called chiasmataExplanation:
