Number of Infant or newly born babies who collapsed without completing one year out of 100 babies Infant morality rate (IMR) is the no. of newborns dying under a year of age divided by the no. of live birth during the year times 1000. The infant mortality rate is also called the infant death rate. It is the no. of death that occurs in the first year of life for 1000 live births. |
