Answer» Homologous series have same functional group, they differ up and down in series by CH2, differ 14 by mass, thay are prepared by same method, they have similar general formula for example ALKANE =CnH2n+2,ALKENE =CnH2n, ALKYNE =CnH2n-2 It is constant C4H10- C2H8 = CH2 , C5H12- C4H10= CH2 Fir ex :- Butane -propane = CH2 , Pentane - butane = CH2 The series in which difference between two consecutive carbon compound is always same ..that is of CH2 |
