Define capacitance of a capacitor and its SI unit. |
|
Answer» Definition : The capacity of a capacitor to stor the charge is called its Capacitance. It is the ratio of magnitude of charge on either of conductor to the magnitude of potential difference between two conductors `i.e., C=(Q)/(V)` `1F=(1"Coulomb")/(1"Volt")` In other words, A Capacitor has a Capacitance of one , farad, if the potentital difference across it rises by 1 volt, when I Coulomb of charge is given to it. The S.I. unit of capacitance is Farad. |
