Bicarpellary, syncarpous OVARY with axile PLACENTATION is seen in Solanaceae. When the placenta is axial and the ovules are attached to it in a MULTILOCULAR ovary, such placentation is said to be axile. Examples of this type are CHINA rose, tomato, and lemon.
