D why doein't the Indian Governmentban the production of tobacco, akohetand other illegal stuff? |
|
Answer» Yes, we all know that cigarettes are harmful and are also banned in public places, yet they are sold in large numbers. This is because in any country (take for example, India) a huge number of Industrial revenue is generated from tobacco and its products, these products are exported in huge numbers to companies like marllboro and other international cigarette and cigar companies and to various pharmacy companies. In the domestic demand, it includes large supplies for home companies like classic (ITC), gold flake (wills), India king, etc. As tobacco consumption is completely dependent on the habit and addiction of the consumer, 2 phenomenon take place together which are “The Income Effect” and “The Giffen’s Paradox”. |
