1. Find the volume of a cylinder whose

(i) r = 3.5 cm, h = 40 cm

(ii) r = 2.8 m, h = 15 m

Solution:

(i) Given,

r = 3.5 cm

h = 40 cm

By using the formula,

Volume of a cylinder = πr2h

= 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 × 40

= 1540 cm3

(ii) Given,

r = 2.8 m

h =15 m

By using the formula,

Volume of cylinder = πr2h

= 22/7 × 2.8 × 2.8 × 15

= 369.6 m3
