Answer» phenol is more acidic than ethanol. ANSWER: PHENOLS are more acidic than phenols because delocalization of electrons takes place in phenols by resonance . Phenol loses its HYDROGEN to form the phenoxide ion which resonates and stabalizes itself ,thus this LOSS of electrons makes phenol more acidic than ALCOHOLS. |
