Answer» Answer: Define mycorrhiza. How it is beneficial for plants? Mycorrhiza is a symbiotic association between fungi and roots of higher plants. Benefits of mycorrhiza : The fungus DECOMPOSING the organic matter present in the vicinity of roots of higher plants provides nutrients to the root. Besides this, fungus also helps the roots in absorbing and retaininng the nutrients. Name two methods by which INSECTS can damage a crop? Generally insect pests attack the plants in three ways: (1) They cut the root, stem and leaf, (2) they suck the cell SAP from various parts of the plant and (3) they bore into stem and fruits Why leguminous plants are used in crop rotation?
