1.	Chloroform is generally prepared from ethanol. Iodoform gives a precipitate with AgNO_3 solution while chloroform does not. Why ?
Answer» Solution : C-I bond in iodoform is WEAKER than C-Cl bond of CHLOROFORM . So C-I bond of iodoform is easily broken to FORM YELLOW precipitate of AgI when heated with `AgNO_3`.
