Can you give me a character sketch of Bholi |
|
Answer» Bholi\'s real name was sulekha but everyone started calling her a fool since she was a little child. When she was 10 month old she fell off from a cot, and damaged some part of her brain this affected her intelligence she couldn\'t speak till she was five and even after that she would stammer. She was laughed and mimicked by the other childrens. Fate, played a cruel joke on her and attack of small pox left pock marks all over her face and body. The fair and pretty 2year child become ugly looking. She remained backward and neglected. She never got any new clothes to wear. Transformation in her life started from age of 7 when she was sent to school, her teacher was a caring affectionate kind lady who brought change in her life. Her parents were woorried about Bholi\'s nature and future they wanted to marry her a lame old man but her teacher build up Bholi\'s confidence and power of speech. She had become confident, bold and self respecting who could have the courage to refuse to marry a greedy lame old man. Bholi (Sulekha) is the main character of the story. She is a simpleton and has black pock-marks on her body. As a child she was neglected by her family who gave up on her thinking she would never find a suitable match. As a matter of chance, Bholi was sent to school where she met her saviour. Her teacher encouraged her, educated her and transformed her into a courageous and dignified young girl. Sulekha refused to marry Bhishamber when he asked her father for dowry. She was self reliant and respectful towards her parents. She decided to work in the school and sustain herself and take care of her parents in their old age. Sulekha is, in every sense, a winner. |
