HENCE, the number of d- and l-isomers. `=2^((n-1))-2^((n-1)//2)` `=2^((5-1))-2^(((5)/(2)-(1)/(2)))` `=2^(4)-2^((2.5-0.5))=2^(4)-2^(2)` `=16-4=12` Number of meso isomers `=2^((n-1)//2)` `=2^((2.5-0.5))=2^(2)=4` So, total number of configurational isomers =12+4=16 |
