Answer» SOLUTION :(1) Aluminium is obtained by electrometallurgical processby carrying out an electrolysis of fused alumina `Al_(2)O_(3)` in cryolite `Na_(3)AlF_(6)`. (2) This mixture has a very high melting point and RELATIVELY less electrical conductivity. (3) To lower the melting point of the mixture and increases the electrical conductivity `CaF_(2)` is added.
