C + O2 ---------> CO2 2C + O2 --------> CO2 2CO + O2 -----> 2CO2 In the first reaction, why is there no change in the entropy? Shouldn't delta S be +'ve, because solid plus gas is going going product, that is gas, hence more random movement. IN 3rd equation, why is delta S negative again? Because shiudlnt it be positive, because co2 is a gas, and hence more random movement? this is actually my doubt from the ellinghem diagram, metallurgy

Answer» C + O2 ---------> CO2
2C + O
2 --------> CO2
2CO + O2 -----> 2CO2
In the first reaction, why is there no change in the entropy? Shouldn't delta S be +'ve, because solid plus gas is going going product, that is gas, hence more random movement.
IN 3rd equation, why is delta S negative again? Because shiudlnt it be positive, because co2 is a gas, and hence more random movement?
this is actually my doubt from the ellinghem diagram, metallurgy
