Solution :The acidic nature of phenols can be explained on the BASIS of resonance.

Due to resonance in phenol the `O-` atom of `-O-H` group acquires slight `+ve` charge and `H-` atom is RELEASED as proton. ALSO phenoxide ion is more stabilised due to resonance.
