Given:

To Find:

  • The numbers

Solution:

Let the numbers be x and (x + 1)

So,

⇒ x + (x + 1) = 65

⇒ x + x + 1 = 65

⇒ 2x + 1 = 65

TRANSPOSING 1 to RHS,

⇒ 2x = 65 - 1

⇒ 2x = 64

Transposing 2 to RHS,

⇒ x = 64/2

⇒ x = 32 ----(1)

⇒ x + 1 = 32 + 1

⇒ x + 1 = 33 ----(2)

So, from (1) & (2)

The numbers are 32 and 33.
