Solution :(i) From the molecular formula, (A) is identified as benzaldehyde and it is called as oil of BITTER almonds.
(ii) Benzaldehyde is oxidised to benzoic acid by alkaline permanganate which gives brisk effervescence with `NaHCO_(3)`.
