Answer» SOLUTION :HCI and `HNO_(3)` cannot be used. HCl react with `KMnO_(4). HNO_(3)` is itself a good OXIDISING agent. HOWEVER, `H_(2)SO_(4)` is found to be most SUITABLE since it does not react with potassium permanganate.
