RBCs --> Red Blood Cells are also known as erythrocytes.They contain a red colour pigment called HAEMOGLOBIN in which haem means iron content an globin means protein content.they are produced in bone marrow of bones and carry oxygen in the form of oxy haemoglobin from lungs......... WBCs--> White Blood Cells are also known as leucocytes.they lack haemoglobin.the main function is to fight against infection and protect us from diseases.they are of two types that is GRANULOCYTES and AGRANULOCYTES.their life is of 12 hours.... PLATELETS --> they are also known as thrombocytes.thier life span is 5 to 10 days . They play a major role in blood clotting. They release a chemical called Thromboplastin which initiates blood clotting.
