A stone thrown vertically upward rises ‘s’ ft. in ‘t’ sec. where s = 80t – 16t2. What its velocity after 2 sec? Find the acceleration?

Answer»

Given S = 80t -16t2

v = \(\frac{ds}{dt}\)= 80 – 32t

At t = 2 sec, v = 80 – 32 (2)

= 80 – 64 = 16 ft./sec.

Acceleration =\(\frac{ds}{dt}\) = -22 ft/sec2.
