Answer»

GIVEN:

SIDE of a square = 4cm

Length and BREADTH of rectangle are 5CM and 4cm

TO FIND:

Which of the the above has lesser AREA.

SOLUTION:

We know that,

Area of a square = side × side

= 4 × 4

= 16cm²

Area of Rectangle = length × breadth

= 5 × 4

= 20cm²

The area of square is 16cm² and rectangle is 20cm²
