a sheet of paper 25cm long and 20cm broad.strips each of width 2cm is cut off all around,find the area of remaining sheet of paper and total area off cut out strips.....can anyone help me please????

Length of Sheet= 25cm
Breadth of Sheet= 20 cm

AREA (A1)= l×b
= 25×20
= 500 cm sq.

After removing strips of width 2 cm all around the sheet
New Length = 25-4
= 21 cm (because an area of 2 cm is removed from either side)

New breadth = 20-4
= 16 cm

New Area (A2) = Area of the paper after cutting strips
=21×16
= 336 cm sq.

Remaining area= Total Area of the strips
= A1-A2
= 500-336
= 164 cm sq
