Answer» MAGNETS generally have a property of attraction. Hence when two unlike poles come closer they get attracted. But EVEN when any iron substance is brought near MAGNET, it attracts the iron piece. Hence we can say that Attraction is not a suitable category to classify magnetism.But when two like poles are brought closer, then we can say that repulsion occurs. This only occurs in this CASE but not in iron piece, etc..Hence Repulsion is the SURE test of Magnetism.Thanks !!
