b) The method which is used to prevent pregnancy is known as Contraception.

Advantages of adopting contraception are :

→ To maintain birth and death rate.

→ It prevents the species from being extinct.

→ To prevent unwanted pregnancies.

→ To prevent SEXUALLY transmitted DISEASES.

  • To prevent sexually transmitted diseases avoid sex with two or more partners.
  • Visit qualified doctors.
  • Use condoms.

Different methods of contraception are:

1) Surgical method: It is a permanent method. In this fallopian tube in females are cut and tied up. This method in females is known as tubectomy.

Whereas in males vas deferens is cut and tied up. This method in males is known as vasectomy.

2) Barrier method: This method is used to prevent the fertilization of sperm and ovum. Condoms in male and cervix in female is used in it.

3) Oral method: This method is for females only. In this they have to take oral PILLS to prevent the release of eggs. The best example of oral PILL is 'Saheli'.
