1.

a grasshopper can jump maximum distance 1.6 m. it negligible time of the ground. how far can it go in 10sec?

Answer»

Given :-

Horizontal distance = 1.6 m

As we KNOW that, Horizontal distance is called as Range.

R = u²/g = 1.6 m

u²/g = 1.6

u² = 16

U = √16

u = 4 m/s

UY = u sin45° (Range is maximum when Ø = 45°).

uy = 4/√2

T = 2uy/g

T = 2(4/√2)/10

T = 4/5√2 s

Total distance travelled in 10 s = 1.6 × 10 × 5√2/4

D = 4 × 5√2

D = 202 m. Answer.......
