A dog takes 6 leaps for every 4 leaps of a hare and 2 leaps of thedog are equal to 5 leaps of the hare. What is the ratio of their speed ? |
|
Answer» = 1 leap - 1/6 seconds. so, for two leaps the time taken is 2/6 = 1/3 seconds. next, we take the EXAMPLE of the hare. now it takes 4 leaps for dogs every 6 leaps. so in the same time , i.e., 1 sec it will take 4 leaps. = 4 leaps - 1 second. = 1 leap - 1/4 seconds. so, it will take 5 leaps in 5/4 seconds so as speed = DISTANCE upon time. speed dog / speed hare = (distance dog/time dog) / (distance hare/ time hare) = ratio = (1m/ 1/3 sec) / (1m / 5/4 sec). = ratio of speeds = 15/4 |
