Answer» Correct Answer - Option 2 : 62.5%

Given:

A dishonest shopkeeper sells the rice using a weight 20% less than the true weight and makes a profit of 30%.

Formula used:

P = S.P – C.P

P% = (P/C.P) × 100

P → Profit

C.P → Cost price

S.P → Selling price

Calculations:

Let CP of 1000 gm be Rs. 1000

So, cost price of 800 gm = 1000 × (100 – 20)/100 = Rs. 800

Selling price of 1000 gm = 1000 × (100 + 30)/100 = Rs. 1300

The shopkeeper is gaining 1300 – 800 = Rs. 500

Profit% = [500/800] × 100 = 62.5%

∴ Required profit % is 62.5%
