Answer» Correct Answer - Option 4 : 80 men

Given:

A bridge has to be constructed in 40 days by 25 men.

After 25 days, 1/3  of the bridge is made.

2/3 of the bridge needs to be constructed in 10 (15 - 5) days.

Concepts used:

M1 × (D1/W1) = M2 × (D2/W2)

Where, M = Number of men, D = Number of days, H = Number of hours, W = Work

Calculation:

⇒ 20 × 25/(1/3) = M × 10/(2/3)

⇒ 500 × 3 = M × 10 × (3/2)

⇒ M = 100

Extra men to be employed = 100 men – 20 men

⇒ 80 men

∴ 80 extra men have to employed for the remaining bridge to be constructed 5 days earlier.
