1.

A circle is drawn with the line joining (2, 3) and (6, 5) as diameter. What are the coordinates of the centre of the circle?

Answer»

Midpoint of the line joining (2, 3) and (6, 5) is

\((\frac{x_1+x_3}{2},\frac{y_1+y_3}{2})=(\frac{2+6}{2},\frac{3+5}{2})\)

\((\frac{8}{2},\frac{8}{2})=(4,4)\)

∴ Centre of the circle is (4,4)
