1.

A car runs 16 km using 1 litre of petrol. How much distance will it cover in 2 3/4 liters of petrol

Answer»

This question can be easily solved by the process of 'unitary method'.

It is given that, in 1 litre of PETROL, a car runs 16 km.

So, in 2 whole 3/4 litres=11/4 litres of petrol, the car would run:- (16×11/4) kms

=(4×11) kms [4 cancels 16 by 4]

=44 kms
