Answer» Given:-Mass of the car(M)=2500kg Initial velocity(u)=10m/s Final velocity(v)=0 (as the car FINALLY stops amd comes to rest after APPLICATION of brakes) Time(t)=5s To find:-First,the acceleration and finally the retarding force(i.e. force in the opposite direction of INITAIL velocity) Solution:-We know that----- a=(0-10)/5 a= -10/5 a= -2m/s² Now,by---- F=MaF= 2500×(-2) F= -5000N Since force is -5000N,thus the retarding force is 5000N. |
