Let the no of 50 PAISE coins ie 0.5 ruppees

Be x and let the number of 25 paise coins ie 0.25 ruppees be y

As per given conditions

X+y=150

X=150-y........(I)

0.5x+0.25y=55

0.5(150-y)+0.25y=55

75-0.5y+0.25y=55

-0.25y=55-75

-0.25y=-20

0.25y=20

Y=80.........yes here we got no. Of 25 paise coins

Now from (i)equation

X+y=150

X=150-80

X=70

Here we got no. Of 50 paise coins to be 70
