Solution :-

Let the average expenditure of all of them is Rs.x .

Then,

→ The money spent by 9TH person = Rs.20 more than the average expenditure of all the nine = Rs.(x + 20) .

So,

→ Average expenditure = (sum of equal expenditure by 8 person and the expenditure by the 9th person) / (Total number of Person) .

Therefore,

→ x = [8 * 30 + (x + 20)] / 9

→ 9x = 240 + (x + 20)

→ 9x = x + 260

→ 9x - x = 260

→ 8x = 260

→ x = 32.5 .

Hence,

→ Total money spent by all of them = (260 + x) = 260 + 32.5 = Rs.292.5 (Ans.) (Option A).
